Community Health Choice (Community) participates in the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). CHIP is a health insurance plan for children under the age of 19 and for families who earn too much money to qualify for Texas Medicaid programs yet cannot afford to buy private insurance.
Under CHIP, Members choose an HMO and a Primary Care Provider (PCP) to provide all primary care services and to arrange for and coordinate referrals for all medically necessary specialty services. Families whose income is between 100 and 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) may be eligible to participate in CHIP. Annual enrollment fees are $50 or less per family, and most co-payments for doctor visits and prescription drugs are $10 or less.
Community provides its CHIP Members with access to comprehensive medical care, including services such as hospital care, surgery, X-rays, physical/speech/occupational therapies, prescription drugs, emergency services, transplants, and regular health checkups and immunizations.
Members receive unlimited medically necessary prescriptions through the Medicaid/CHIP Vendor Drug Formulary.
Community Health Choice is one of the greatest companies that I know. This program gives me hope in our Community.
